Yes! This is a scam site and has NOTHING to do with Limewire. Today you are the second with the same site:

Why donīt you ask them for the Cds and free stuff? Or better ask them for a refund!!!

are you telling me I actually don't need to pay for Lime Wire?? the Basic download?

Lord of the Rings October 6th, 2004 03:34 PM

No yu don't need to pay for the basic version. The pro version is $18.88 & offers 6 mths free updates & tech support. Many people see it moreso as a donation really.

The question is will you watch them on your DVD player or only on your comp? DVD players usually donīt support .avi files you have to covert them to VCD/SVCD burning software like Nero is able to do it.

By real ones do mean DVDs? No, they arenīt DVDs have aroung 4 Gb per cd so a normal video would have around 8 - 12 Gb - .avi usually have between 500MB and 800MB. You see its a very huge difference in size.

When you say AVI, it could mean a great many things. It's a little bit like QucikTime. There's many different QT codecs tht create QT movies but not all are comopatible with all apps. eg: I created a divX-AVI format movie tonight (out of full quality standard dv video) & Toast has no probs recognising it (I didn't use divx to burn it with though.) So your avi file could have been encoded any no. of ways! I presume you were refering to Toast right?! Try selecting Video & drag & drop it into the toast window. For Toast 6 that's easy. For Toast 5, depending upon whether you choose video cd/dvd it might need to be converted by Toast (Click on other & choose options.)

Oh Morgwen, the 1st link was to the closed thread, the 2nd to the original you were referring to. I corrected after I realised it was closed!

chicagolady October 6th, 2004 04:47 PM

I would like to watch them on my DVD Player on TV. If I finally find a whole movie to dl.

Lord of the Rings October 6th, 2004 05:20 PM

Do you have Toast? If so which version? You may need to dwnld the mac version divx codec if it has been encoded in that (see http://www.divx.com/divx/player/ for free player & http://www.3ivx.com/ )

chicagolady October 6th, 2004 06:03 PM

I have version 6 :) and just got the Panther Software....will see tomorrow if it makes any difference from Jaguar to Panther......wish me good look....

good night for know guy's and thanks....;)

Lord of the Rings October 6th, 2004 06:10 PM

You'll love Panther!!! It's a great os & reintroduces some things that osx had left out since os9. I would like to know which version Toast you have though!??? Also make sure you dwnld those codecs I gave you the links to.

chicagolady October 6th, 2004 06:21 PM

DivX Player with DivX Codec for Windows 2K/XP
DivX Player with DivX Codec for Windows 98/ME
DivX Player Only for Windows

which one do I take??? with a mac???

Lord of the Rings October 6th, 2004 07:38 PM

I remember now it took me a while to find the right page: http://www.divx.com/divx/download/ Don't forget the other one as well. http://www.3ivx.com/technology/quicktime/index.html & http://www.3ivx.com/download/index.html You'll see the link for osx on the right R-side.
