I-tunes doesn't work anymore

My itunes doesn't wory anymore after i moved my computer to another room (don't think that would make any differnece), anyway, my limewire came up with some popup saying itunes doesn't work, and i was racing through and just clicked on it as if it was just an ordinary update or whatever and i realised that it was itunes.

Anyone that has a clue what i'm talking about, please tell me.

yeah i had the same problem.try searching your harddrive for all your mp3s. if they are still there then save them in a new folder. then download the latest version of itunes. it should pick all the mp3s, they will probably show up in the new version. but what happened to me was that they then dissapeared and i lost the lot so back em all up. hope it works for you

Wow! Sounds like a horrible predicament. I'm glad I havent experienced it with all I've got. Lol But since I import so many via LW it means I have 2 copies anyway. Although I have 2 HDD's split into multiple partitions to keep eveything separate for certain purposes.

With a G5 you have a DVD-RW right? So occasionally back up what you got. Yes I know it adds up. I know very well. I have over 100 dvd-rw's & over 250 cd-rw's & an external HDD. Aaah disks become a pain after awhile particularly when you want to copy them back onto your comp. It takes 'so'long. An external HDD seems to have been a better idea. And no they don't cost heaps nowadays. By the way dvd-rw's of mp3's play happily on many set-top dvd players with menu's & all. Paricularly if they originated thru iTunes which arranes them nicely. SO check it out & get some of those tunes off your HDD.

By the way whenever you intall new softw on OSX you should do a SAFE start & repair permissions with Disk Utility. See Repair, Permissions & safe start links

Which OSX version do yo have? 10.3.6 has some bugs. Better to wait for 10.3.7 to come out. You can try to manually re-install iTunes. Go for the Standalone installer. Installing online can sometimes cause issues. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ & save it to your HDD.
