Although there are moments where it can slow the computer down if you attempt to do too many things at once. Try not using the Resume or force files to Resume, or Find Sources, on more than just a few files. I rarely use them at all. Much more efficient & healthier for your LW & your comp, & the Gnutella netwk, is to manually search for sources to continue incomplete files. Otherwise you'll find files will queue for longer than normal & LW can be slow to respond, & LW takes much longer to settle down. So in itself LW will not slow your comp. But if you don't use it responsibly & skillfully then you can potentially have some slow down issues.
Instead, follow some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A & also search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. |
