Latest Version "Idle" question So, after sifting through search and several forums, it is my understanding that if there is no activity on the computer for some period of time Limewire goes into an idle mode of some sort? I have a 1.8, G5 iMac, with 250 gig HD, 1 MB of RAM, OSX-10.3.7, and the Bluetooth keyboard/mouse. I've tried running LW Pro 4.2.6 as well as Beta 4.3.3. I've configured the firewall to allow the LW port to be open and adjusted my energy settings so everything is ON all the time. Also, I'm on Time Warner Cable. Regardless of enabling/disabling OOB, Ultrapeer, etc. I, too, find that I lose all but one connection if I walk away from the computer for a short while. As soon as I jiggle the mouse or hit a key, connections start attempting once again until I have 5 again. If I leave it for a short time, the same thing happens. If I understand correctly, this was written into the code so it is supposed to happen? (Never had an issue like this on the old B&W G3 running OS9.2.2 with LW Pro 4.0) I'm sure I'm like other users who keep their computers on all night while sleeping to allow others to share from their library. Is this not acceptable anymore? Is there a workaround for this extremely debilitating "upgrade"? Has the RIAA or whomever is wielding the threat of lawsuits caused this retreat? Wishing for the "Good Ol' Days" Thanks for any response, The unhappy "Clownie" |
Same trouble! I am having the same issues! I am waiting to see if anyone replies to you. I could not find any answers to this issue anywhere else on the forum either. Good luck and I hope some one addresses this soon! |
