All new limewire downloads come up as corrupt files!

I have been using Limewire for several years now with no problems, but recently I have run into a snag. I have a Mac G4 running OSX v10.2.8 with a cable modem connection; I was using an older version of Limewire and this is what was happening: I would start the program up and download a music file (primarily what I download ), usually there would be no problem with the first download, but all of the files thereafter would come up as with a message that the file was corrupt. I tried other files, same thing happenend; every file I try to download after the first file comes up is "corrupt." First I updated my version of Limewire to the latest version hoping that would clear up the problem, but to no avail. I am running into the same problem. If I do tell Limewire to resume the download regardless of the corruption, the file comes in as a series of very low clicking noises and is usually in the vicinity of 20 somehting minutes long,...WTF? I don't have a clue how to fix this, or what is going on,....can somene help me? Thanks

I've just arrived here with the same problem, it appeared first about 8months ago.

I found a thread on the gnutella forum, but can't for the life of me find it again.

Someone issued a list of IP addresses to block, apparently it is a Music Industry attempt to flood networks like these with corrupt files cloaked to look like .mp3.

I had thought it might be something dear Mr Jobs had added to files downloaded from itunes to prevent further sharing.

He would have had to agree to do something to help, in order to get agreement to his service, and it was only newer songs that initially had the problem.

But it now appears to be getting worse, with more and more T3 and higher sources, offering presumably more and more corrupt files, it is an ingenious way to prevent our activity.

Anyway that's what I've pieced together from the last hour or so reading this board (which isn't the easiest board I've ever navigated)
