How do you launch a zip file?

Everytime i try, there is a problem with unarchiving it

zip is the windows equivalent of sit files. Some mac files are zipped on rare occasions. StuffIt Expander can unzip it. But are you sure it's intended for mac? If there's an exe file inside then you know it is intended ONLY for windows!

I've tried un zipping it, but it keeps coming up with an error message

The error message says:
Unable to unarchive...
Error 1-Operation not permitted

Any suggestions?

Error 1 sounds fairly major. Is that a mac osx error or a stuffit engine error no.? You could try SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions & see if that helps. I can't find error no. 1 at their site: http://support.allume.com/techsuppor...r+1&sessionid=

It just occured to me you might be getting errors due to not having admin priviledges on your computer.
