iPod

anyone know how I can download music that i have downloaded to itunes (Limewire file) directly to my iPod

Dread,
if your files are within the iTunes library, just plug your iPod to synchronize it with iTunes library.

LW downloaded MP3, when they are in iTunes, are like other MP3s.

So if you own a Pod and use Itunes, you know the step to synchronize.

Or I cannot understand your question :D

Still a problem

Thanks for your help... but that is where i am having the problem.

Unlike CDs I can not convert (? sync) (the convert to Apple Lossless selection does not light up ) the Limewire downloaded music sits there and I can not drag it to the iPod.

Please I need more detailed instructions... anyone :(

thanks

more.. of the same

is there a difference... convert... consolidate... syncronize

is this how the music is formatted and my problem.

drag and paste would be so easy... lol

as you can tell ... this is frustrating and I have limited knowledge base

thanks again

The Ipod is able to read Apple Lossless (.ac3) and MP3: so no need to convert the LW dl MP3s

Drag ???? Just plug the IPod's FW cable in one FW port, ITunes opens and syncs all the music of Itunes to your Ipod.. 'sync' means that your Itunes Library and your iPod's one are the same: add a file to Itunes, it will add to Ipod the following sync ..suppress a file in your Itunes, it xill be suppressed out of the iPod at the next sync.

Agreed ... this happens when I copy a CD or buy from iTunes but it is like Limewire has its own Library and the two do not sync no matter what I do.

In LW's Preferences/Itunes/Import, i the "Allow support for iTunes" (or something like..sorry LW in French) is checked ?
In Itunes you have a songs list (left panel) called "LimeWire" which receives all the songs dl from LW and sync with Itunes. Do you see this list ? is it full of songs ?

Yes I have a list of songs(Owner's LimeWire Tunes) which is imported from Limewire, which i can listen to using iTunes, but can not do anything else with it ie. add it it to my iPod or my Library.

The LW playlist which appears in iTunes is simply a playlist. If you want the songs to be automatically imported into iTunes then go to LW's preferences>iTunes>Importing & tick option to enable importing & press apply. The songs must be added to iTunes Music Library before you can add them to your iPod.

Keep in mind iTunes does not recognise mp3 pro, mp4 audio (only m4a), or Ogg Vorbis. You can get a 3rd party plug-in to allow iTunes to import & play Ogg Vorbis but I'm not sure if this plug-in can be transfered to iPod. Keep in mind that songs that don't have appropriate mp3 id3 tags 'might' not get imported. I spend considerable time comparing the iTunes & songs I've downlded to check they've been added by arranging iTunes by date added for that moment. I also use mp3 Rage to add tags that are missing. And I'll use Audion to see if the songs are playable. You can get Audion for free now. I left a link to it in the Sticky at the top of this section re: iTunes. HERE (click on link)

If LW is too busy, sometimes it does not allow iTunes to add the songs. So you need to add them manually (drag & drop for example.)

sorry... this all seems way over my head... thanks just the same.

i need a step by step instruction ( the more detail the better) as to how to get my Limewire list into my library so I can load them into my iPod

still haven't figured out why LW is so easily transferred to iTunes but not to my iPod
