Unhappy Tiger & Connection problems

I used Limewire with 10.2 no problems, then I upgraded to Tiger, and now Limewire can't connect. It starts fine, but then it just says 'connecting' in red letters in the bottom left corner, and never gets connected, before saying I don't have a connection, or I am being blocked by a firewall. Meanwhile Firefox and Entourage working fine.

I tried three things: first i reinstalled Limewire.
Second I checked out the connection issues pointed out on the Limewire website. It advised adding the Limewire/Gnutella port to the Firewall listings. The instructions were vague - it implied this was only an issue for 10.3.9 - but I tried it anyway. It also implied that i did not need to put in the port number, but i did this as well.
Third, I deleted my preferences file.
But the problem remains.

I am using Tiger on a G3 IBook, connecting thru wireless internet.

Hope you can help!

Try deleting your LW preferences whilst LW is closed & found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

You have an active firewall for osx? Wow!

So which firewall is this? Is it OSX firewall or another?

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:

1. What firewalls you have?
2. How much ram?
3. Hard Disk space available?
4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
7. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
8. Who is your isp provider?

Hi Lord of the rings

I was just writing a lengthy reply to your email, when i started Limewire to see what version it was, and now it is working fine. Possibly because of server issues, or maybe simply restarting computer after having deleted pref file.

thanks very much for your quick help.
