Limewire quits while loading HTML engine

I recently installed limewire 4.9.11 and it was working, but for some reason it now quits unexpectedly when it says its loading the HTML engine. I have tried several things:
1.) deleting and reinstalling limewire
2.) repairing permissions and clearing all cache
3.) reinstalling java
all of which did not fix my problem.
Suggestions??

The same problem

Ye, I have tried everything like u hav done and it isn't working. This is terrible. I use Limewire for everything. I have tried to contact Limewire but that ain't working. Some1 needs to tell them that their newest version doesn't work on our macs! If they can't do anything about it then at least make the last version available to mac users since that version(which was deleted whilst upgrading the new one which doesn't work) worked fine on my computer. Please sort it out Limewire.

Thanks

try deleting your .limewire preferences while limewire is closed, please see: Fixes for Limewire

you may also want to update to the latest beta version if your comfortable with that.

beta version is located here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml

Im very sorry to say that deleting my preferences don't do anything. I did, and yet again, limewire quits when loading the html engine. I believe that I tried the beta a few days ago, it didnt work either. Any more suggestions greatly appreciated, and if anyone has a link to download limewire 4.8.1, that would be appreciated as well.

Try Jum's version here: http://www.mager.org/LimeWire/ This is like a beta of a beta but I've found Jum's versions to be quite good.

fixes haven't worked

Thanks for any thoughts. I'm a new Limewire user trying to install for the first time and had the above mentioned problem.

I've been reading all over the forum and tried most of the fixes, to no avail. I also went to Jum's website, but I've no idea how to use that website to fix whatever I needed to fix...

Thanks LOTR! Downloaded one of the nightly builds, and sure enough, it loaded. It works great, with the exception of the occasional bugginess. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in the near future, but until then, I recommend that anyone having this problem download a build from Jum's site.

TundraTeacher at Jum's site, click on the http link or the nightly build link.
