Limewire Episodes to iMovie
 

I'm making a movie for this reality revival thing at church. Anyways, I need the intros to 4 reality tv shows: The Amazing Race, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Apprentice, and Survivor. I have successfully found the intro to Survivor, but I had to download the whole episode of Amazing Race...which is fine. Anyways, I tried to import it into iMovie, and it tells me the duration time of the clip is 0:00:00 and it gives me a black screen...while the Survivor intro imported just fine. I've watched the entire episode of THe Amazing Race on my computer and it's 42 minutes long, so why won't it import into iMovie? Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks!:)

It's imposible to import a MPEG clip into iMovie. You can try to export that clip to MOV using Quicktime App.

Another thought as well as negrete's suggestion. It would help if you had QuickTime Pro for export options. MPeg Streamclip (donateware) which will also allow you to convert mpeg to other formats. It will also allow you to select the particular section/sequence for export. iMovie can import more formats than what the earlier versions could. But still, it has limitations. I very rarely use it however (I user Final Cut P.) If it's an avi format you have, then you'll need the appropriate codecs/plug-ins to convert it. Be that DivX/XviD/3ivx, etc. You can downld these.

BTW the original format iMovie imported was quicktime dv. I can't remember the newer formats it can import now.
