LW docs

Howdy,

Nothing seems to have come with the download. Where are the docs for learning to use LW?

If you have double clicked the dmg file LW should have installed itself.

The manual is on line at http://www.limewire.com/english/content/userguide.shtml

Ok, thanks.

Installed OK. The main problem was the JavaApplicationStub which works for Jaguar but not Panther or Tiger, which I changed via a Darwin command line, thanks to kmag in another thread.

OK, I found the User Guide and am D/L'ing the PDF.

When it comes to help, I'd think the User guide is the main place to go, other than here. So, why doesn't LW's Help menu have a link to the User Guide?

Thanks again.

User Guide broken

Hi Again,

Well, I D/L'd the LW User Guide, but it's broken. All I can see is a blue 'L' on the first page, and a weird black rectangle with a bunch of strange artifacts on page 16. The rest are all blank.

Also, the first time it opened (in PreView) it crashed PreView when I tried to choose another page.

What's going on? Suggestions?

Help>using limewire>a list of options including users guide FAQ and Forums seems good to me.

Dont know about the pdf guide I always read things like that online... If you have dial up ...not such a good option. I'll try it later don't fancy crashing anything right now... but preview normally opens those horrid files as perfectly as they will allow :)

Howdy,

I'm just spoiled. Even at so-called high speeds, searching web pages is not my idea of a good time. I'd rather download. Then I can launch and run at processor speeds out of RAM for searches (about a thousand times faster).

I can just keep the User Guide (if I can get one that actually works) in the dock while I'm learning -- no big deal.

Never a problem before with D/L'ing a PDF, but I'll try again. Ya never know, it coulda got corrupted in transit, I suppose.

If you get the "pdfzipped" version of the user guide it works fine. The one labelled "pdf" is useless.

Yep, that's whatI figured -- next thing; thanks --
