Are you new to Limewire in which case where did you get 4.8 from or have you used it for a while and it has just stopped?

Can you tell us which Java version you have installed?

Have you done a security software update recently?

I suspect a Java problem so this information will help

Help!!

In an effort to fix the problem I tried to get the new version 4.9 but I needed 10.2, but I haven't done any upgrades with security and I'm not sure which Java version I have but I know I haven't been tampering with that either. I have had Limewire since the early versions of 4 and now this is the first time this problems occurs.

You need to keep LW 4.8 4.9 will not work on your computer afaik.

Do you still have the DMGinstaller for 4.8?

I did ask if you have done any software security updates recently as these can change the Java version, with out you knowing, which can be a pain.
>Utilities>java and you may seeone or a few Java Plug in settings. What number(s) do you see.

It might be worth deleting your limewire preference folder (with Limewire closed).

It is in Users>your name>Library>Preferences>limewire The folder can be dragged to the trash. This will loose all your configurations and shared file settings, and you incomlete files may not resume

This may not cure the problem but it's worth a try.

I suspect a Java problem, but I'm tired and going to bed. I'm not quite sure which Java you should have. somewhere in the forum I think there is a fairly recent post about this.

I'll be back tomorrow with luck, or someone will:)
