what next?

I received the use of LW Pro for about 2 weeks before it went to blazes. I've tried all the fixes available w/ no luck. I'm interested in trying another P2P program(s) IF there is a free trial period. I don't want to get burned again......I need one for a Mac, primarily music dl's. Can someone suggest one w/ reasonable cost to try? Thanks for any and all suggestions. Jack

Errr what the heck. LW is FREE unless you get Pro for $18.88
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

You've probably noticed this is the Gnutella forums, not the LimeWire forums, but LW has its own section on the forums. So others to try ... if you don't like LW, then you probably won't like FrostWire as its identical. Just a different interface. It's free & there's no pro version.

There's also Phex (also free). Check the Stickies in the Phex forum. There's another which is a combination between LW & Acquisition, but it has issues so I don't think I should recommend it. For mac, unfortunately there's not a lot of choice compared to windows.

BTW what did you mean by LW pro went to blazes?

Why pay for a downlding program? LW Basic is free & just as good as pro. And you're expected to use LW Basic before moving onto pro so you learn how to use it, etc. It's not a trial period. It's simply free.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply... Yep, I understand about this being a Gnutella site, not just LW. Having said that, I did NOT know about LW having it's own section. Thanks for that, too. When I say LW went to blazes, it simply quit working. I cannot connect...either w/ Pro or basic. My son lives down the road from me and he cannot connect either. We both lost service at the same time. I checked w/ my (satellite) ISP and they claim they do not block or filter Limewire..... I have no reason to doubt their word on that....but........who really knows? Thanks.... BTW, can you recommend KLitePro??? I just ran across it using Google...Jack

I would very definitely not recommend KLitePro. You'll find it on this list Known Scam Sites

Any site claiming klite Pro is a SCAM. The only real alternatives to LW on mac are bittorrents clients such as Bittorrent and Azureus, and eDonkey (on that network, amule also works).

All other proggies for mac either rip LW source code, use gIFT outdated plugins or are scams.

Ciao
