white screen in quicktime. i downloaded a .avi file and when i try to open it quicktime just displays a white screen, and when i hit play the time progresses, but there is no sound and no display on the quicktime screen. Once it told me I needed to download something for quicktime, so i clicked the link and it took me to a page with a whole lot of different downloads for quicktime and I was not sure which one I needed. Does anyone know what is going on here? |
Heather, welcome on Gnutella forums. Perhaps -I quite sure- that the .avi you've downloaded is divx format and that, in your system, there is no QT extension which can deal with that format. Could you try to downlaoad VLC , which a better and more powefull movies player than Apple's built-in DVDPlayer. And in general, the equation is simple: if VLC cannot play it, there is some big troubles with the movie (corrupted, NTSC or PAL format incompatible with your machine,..) -> forget this movie :D Philippe |
