running programs after installed??

Hello,
I've been having a problem recently launching programs after they have been downloaded. I'll double click and it won't launch, i'll drag it to the desktop and they don't work. If i choose open with option the only one that works is word, and obviously it just shows all the computer language etc. I've tried to unzip them by dragging it into stuffit expander, it doesn't work. But the wierd thing is that if i try and erase them from the limewire library it says it can't because it's running somewhere. anway, please help....

thanks

We can't help you with warez. It's against the forum rules. If you download that type of thing then you do it at your own risk.
Command, Options & Esc to force an activity to stop. (Or sometimes Command & fullstop.) Otherwise open the Activity Monitor in your Utililities folder & cancel it's operation from there.

Make sure the file you downlded is the appropriate size. Size does matter!!! And look around. Don't downld the 1st one you find.

Your problem is running LW, their problem is running programs they've downlded. It's against forum rules to discuss how to deal with warez (illegally obtained) programs.

Not enough OSX people are aware that after installing new programs or system updates, you should do a SAFE Boot by restarting whilst holding down the SHIFT key until you see the message Safe Booting. Then after it's started up, go to Utilities folder, open Disk Utility & repair permissions. Then reboot normally.

If drag & drop abilities stop, then a more severe issue may be at hand. Running 3rd party utilities such as Norton, Tech Tool Pro, Disk Warrior, etc. are probably the way to go. Also rebooting with the OSX installer disk & doing repairs using Disk Utility.

However the person above's problem might be that the downlded warez aren't complete files or are corrupted.
