I don't have a mac but what I do to preview with vlc is go to the LW library, click on the incomplete files then hi-lite the file you want to preview. You will need to have a short cut to the vlc media player on your desktop. Then just drag and drop the file onto the short cut and vlc will launch automaticly.(you'll have to move LW over to see the short cut)

This will leave a previewed file in your incomplete files that you should delete. It will be in red, don't delete the actual file. Again this works for xp, don't know if it works for mac.

Edit: My mistake, if you launch the preview with LW then it leaves an incomplete file in the incomplete files section of the library.:D

Thanks 6_pac for bringing this post back up. I saw it many hours ago but got side-tracked despite I had started to answer it. Well I have QT as default for some formats & VLC as default for all the rest. To set default in OSX there's more than one way. Select the video file, go to File>Get Info ( + i ) & choose application to open it. You will see you can also set that app as the default. Another way is to control-click the file.

Personally, I go directly to the incomplete folder to view directly so I don't need to go back & remove preview files later. You can just drag & drop the file onto VLC. Actually VLC handles incomplete files much better than QT does. Off-hand I can't remember which format(s) I have QT as the default. I think Mpeg2 is one b/c I have the mpeg2 playback plug-in for QT. Most of the others I use VLC for.

Library/Search/Minitor Window

I'm using an EMac OS10.2.8. I just downloaded LW and the Library/Search/Minitor Window is blank. Sometimes if I click on the window some info shows up but not the complete window. Any suggestions?

ddd which version of Java do you have? You can find out by going to the menu bar, select LimeWire icon (next to the apple icon in far left corner), then choose About LW. This will tell you the LW version & the Java version. There's been issues for other Jaguar users also with blank windows on the newer versions of LW. You may need to get an earlier version of LW instead. Send me a pm & I can send it to you. Press the pm button below my post to send me a pm.

ddd a change of skins will probably fix it.
