Thanks for your help so far, I have found out that my household has actually intended to change ISP for a while anyway and so we won't be using talktalk anymore, can you reccomend a really reliable, fast and cheap provider? I will report back on here if the new provider solves the problem.

I'm not from the UK, at least not for many many generations so ... someone like Only A Hobo or ukbobboy01 might be able to point you in the right direction. Just make sure it's not one of those on the UK filter list I gave earlier.
