How do I burn cd's and dvd's?

I'm a longtime user of Limewire, but have used the program with a OS 9.2 machine and recently upgraded my computer to the new Intel iMac and OS-X 10.4. I looked for directions on how to burn cd's and dvd's of songs and video I download and couldn't find anything. I'm an advanced beginner computer-wise. Would some kind soul please hold my hand and walk me through the process? Thanks to all who respond.

Burning in OSX

AFAIK you can't burn video disks using mac by itself (unless you want to go thru multiple steps using conversion utility & then iMovie & iDVD.) You can use iTunes to burn audio cd's. But what you really need is Toast. And the most recent version V.7 is the one to get. Roxio Toast Titanium is the best burner program for mac & is arguably even better than the windows ones as well. It's been around longer.
