Limewire Frozen
 

Hi , have Limewire 4.11.2, got it from Softpedia to replace the version I had already. OSX 10.4.6 on computer, Limewire keeps freezing , also CPU goes to 100% when I reun Limewire eventhough settings are reduced, please help

Are you running Java 1.5 or 1.4.2? You should be running Java 1.5; see Setting up Java 1.5

Also, it might be wise to delete your LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed; found here /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

After installing LW did you do a safe boot & repair permissions? Did you do that after updating your OSX updates last time?

Java is fine, deleted preferences folder as advised however I do not know how todo safe boot and repair permissions and it still freezes

Hi Guys , still the same problem and have done suggested things NOW can transfer saved files to Toast 7 absolute disaster - even while Im here I know it will have frozen when I go back and I will have to force quit again

You don't say which version you replaced, but 4.11.2 is a beta version (now replaced by 4.11.3) Have you tried 4.10.9 The latest official release from www.limewire.com ? If that fails for you ..send me a pm (Private message). I have another suggestion that might help..
