Bug Report OS X 10.4.8
 

There is a bug with the latest Limewire and 10.4.8 specifically it is a java issue I used the java utility to downgrade the java used by lime wire and it started to work again but not very well so somehow you need to downgrade to a previus limewire, not sure how to do that !

You didn't specify what the bug is & what version of LW you are using.

OS x 10.4.8
Very slow no uploads and less than 1k downloads searching poor, can't seem to get it to work looks like a JAVA problem, I've switched java machine as well.
Any solutions ?

Sounds more like an isp issue. Really!
Can you answer these questions for us System details - help us to help you (click on link) ... (sorry some repeat details.)

(b) How many files are you sharing?
(c) Go to your incomplete folder & see how many incomplete files are in this folder. A quick way to access it is by going to LW's Library window, select incomplete folder at the bottom & press the Explore button. This will open the folder for you.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) OS X 10.4.8
2. What firewalls you have? None ( Lime wire think none anyway)
3. How much ram? 1gb
4. Hard Disk space available? 18 gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband no contention fixed IP business line *mb uncontended
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? D-link 804
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Office
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.10.5 pro latest really does not work
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Biscit Business ADSL
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It works OK
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New prob experienced user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? No no brick

Download stalls... but does not stop

no incomplete downloads...

Actually it did work but it is now timing out..... ???

I am having the same problems.It started when I updated Itunes for my new Ipod. I think Apple is messing with you? I keep changing my Internet
sharing preferences and it works for about 10 seconds the disconnects?:bangh:

can someone help me?
last night I got rid of the fire wall but now it is back?
I tried the test you suggested it is working
I tried to connection to magic net It will not work
I get the same message "you have a unstable connection to the network"
