Icon Bounces in Dock and Then Disappears

I just recently updated my OSX to 10.4.8, and now, even with older or newer versions of LimeWire, the icon simple bounces in the dock and disappears. Could this be because of the newer version of the OS? Is anyone with 10.4.8 able to run LW, and if so, how can I get it to work? Any help is greatly appreciated.
