Of course your isp will tell you anything so they won't lose your business. Besides, those at the front desk don't know. Many ISPs in UK do block or shape p2p.

As for your problem, check the tips here Can't launch LW: Bouncing in Dock (click on link) as at least one or a combination of those tips will work.
