Can't Go Pro + Problem saving to "Volumes"

I bought and downloaded pro for my Mac. I "Upgraded" and when I went to open Limewire again it asked me to go pro. How do I make it upgrade to pro?

I also have other problems with Limewire saving files to folders I can't access under "Volumes" in my hard drive. But that's another thing.

Thanks.

When you purchase pro, you are sent an email from sales which has a link to your own personal download page. So open that link & bookmark the page for easy access.

As for volumes to save to, make sure permissions are available to you. I had that problem when I used an alternative account on the same machine. Volumes with OSX installed on it need to be owned by the System. However other volumes may be owned by the user. Select the volume & use Command i, look at permissions & click Details to show who owns. The most important issue here is that you have both read & write permissions.

I had no problem downloading Pro from my special page. What I was asking was this: When I run the program and "Upgrade", I got the new limewire version (UPDATE) but no Pro (UPGRADE). It still asked me if I want to upgrade.

Do I need to uninstal and reinsal on my iMac G5?

Thanks.

What you have probably done is gone & downloaded the Basic version. That's why it asked you if you wanted to upgrade. For all updates, you always go to your personal download page because the program itself doesn't know what your personal download page is or where to find it. One way to check is go to the About LW under the LimeWire name on toolbar & see whether it says pro or not.

Thanks, I got another message that said to take the old shortcut and remove the old Limewire folder. This worked. Now I have pro up and running but it doesn't seem to increase speed. Infact everything that was dloading at 5-29 kbps is now 0-1. I'm on DSL

Thanks.

Speeds are only as good as your sources. So find more sources & you will do better. Pro connects to more ultrapeers so improves searches mostly for rarer files not common ones. If you find plenty of sources then Pro will also allow you to download from more sources than basic. If you are relying on one or 2 sources, then they may be dial up users or downlding the shared amounts that others have downloaded (but haven't completed.)
