6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? - ACTIONTEC GT704-WG (MODEM ROUTER WIRELESS COMBO):xeri_ok1ani:
7. Where are you trying to connect from? - Apartment complex.
What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? - LIMEWIRE VERSION 4.13.6 PRO, JAVA 1.5.0_07:xeri_ok1ani:
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? - VERIZON BROADBAND DSL.
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? - DONE, YOUR TEST WORKED.:p
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. - :blink:NOT TO MY KNOWLEDGE.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? - :rolleyes:NONE OF THE ABOVE.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? - YES.:laugh_2:

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? - NOT SURE, BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO FIND OUT. PLEASE HELP.:wai:
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? - (SYMANTEC) NORTON ANTIVIRUS.:xirokrotima:
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). - USA.

Is it you cannot connect?
Is your LW or router port forwarded? Before you forwarded a port in the router did you set up a static ip first? If not done first, the process won't work & you would need to delete the previous pf rule & repeat process. Static ip instructions for OSX 10.4

I am aware some apartment complexes have their own internet controls & firewalls.

After verifying your port forwarding above is correct:

1. After updating to the new version of LW, it's best to delete the previous LW preferences folder; Deleting LW Preferences folder in OSX (make sure LW is CLOSED at that time, also make a note of all important settings.)

2. If LW still won't connect, try options here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

3. Another option is installing FrostWire & if it connects, then close it. Then try re-opening LW.



The performance options can be temporarily disabled as described in the link in point 2 above:
