Angry

I was, and still am, having problems with Limewire. I tried to run software updater, but i only had a security update -- nothing with java... also, whats up with all the dropped messages? About 10-15 % of all my messages are dropped, is this abnormally high?

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!!!!

Angry Limewire screwing with us?

Is this Limewire trying to get us to upgrade? I have no problem with them trying to get me to upgrade but this is not a very smart way to do it - maybe you could limit my upload for old or unregistered versions? But if you purposely cripple your own software - how do I know if your software is just badly written or if you've crippled it? How does an end user know? I don't. I just think there's omething wrong with Limewire and it's time to move onto another program - hasta Limewire. good try but you broke it. Very smart!

if you're on OSX, the free vlc plays more formats than anything else I've found (you might have to use its File->Open rather than drag-n-drop or doubleclick, though). Here's the link: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I can't understand why you can't find the Limewire home page if you found this site. Oh well, here's a link http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download
(Once you get to that page, there's a button to try the new beta version too. Actually, it's still being called an alpha because of so many great changes--but caution: alphas are risky!)

I've never seen a "Burn" feature in LimeWire, but iTunes' burn button works great.

Default Limewire does not yet use the new Java

I dont believe LimeWire uses the new Java libraries yet. When you install the OS X Java update it leaves the old version of Java for applications that have not yet be recoded to work with the new Java.

Default terminally qeued downloads

Since updating to OSX 10.3.2, I've been unable to download any files successfully in limewire. Searches are successful, but when i download the file, its status remains qeued continually. I am running the classic version of limewire because i have found the OSX version to be incompatible with my computer - the icon bobs in the dock and then settles down again without opening.

If anyone can offer any help, it'd be appreciated.

thanks
