osx leopard trouble

hi my name is larry im from Honduras C.A as you can see there is no sch mac support in my country i just bought a macbook 2.1 core 2 duo 1gb ram and recently installed limewire, at first it was working properly but my first download went only up to 6% and never went up from there the message "need more sources" appears, after that it happens to every dowload i try. Also on the lime wire page it appears it detects a firewall but in the security box of osx system preferences the box with "allow all incoming connections" is checked. so im kind of of lost anyone cac help me?

My guess is it's your router at fault. ;) The NAT behaving like a firewall. But we don't know yet. ;)

hmm suggests router issue to me at a guess. Is Ares using the same listening or connection ports as LW? If yes, you need to change them. You can not have two programs using same port for connection or listening. :)

BTW if you notice drops in speed during heavy downloading, it will most likely be due to the wireless set up. Wireless connections are unreliable for constant high speed downloading, the speed will fluctuate or worse, possibly lose connection, even possibly crash the router. This is a reknown issue in bittorrent circles. ;)

Also, try this: Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link) as you may have some fakes mixed in with your incomplete files which are flooding the connection by constantly attempting to connect. Particularly at start up which is killing the UPnP communication between the program & router to open a listening port for LW.

how can i check for ares connection and listening ports? on the mac, listening port for limewire is 8971.
