My first post***** Limewire Pro, (14.8.1) but iTunes 7.7 (43) on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.4) won't import some downloaded audio, (mp3, mpegx) or it does selectively. No error message, just doesn't show up in iTunes app. Files are visible in Finder, sometimes playable in other apps. but not iTunes. All my prefs. in Limewire are OK I think. Same files won't play when Limewire player selected as default player either. Thanks.

There might be an issue either with iTunes or LW.

In any case, check posts #3 & 5 here for possible reasons or suggestion to try: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...tml#post160691

Same problem here, but I am using iTunes 7.6.2 (9) and LW Pro 14.8.3, on Mac OS X 10.4.11.

I got the same message. I made a separate folder for music on my desktop and copied the music from my destination folder in limewire to it. Then I imported the songs from the new folder. That worked.

I am aware LW creates a special Applications folder if the program is installed elsewhere other than default (main osx applications folder.) Permissions are that of System. Not sure why LW started doing this. But just days ago discovered via another member it was causing installation issues.

I am not personally using the new LW version. And I am aware with the new version, the download preferences are different to before. This 'might' be related.

I have seen a report on another forum that suggests the problem is with the latest iTunes version 7.7, not with LW. So "IF" you still have a previous iTunes installer, I'd suggest go back to that version. Check your browser download folder. To uninstall iTunes, simply drag & drop into the trash, empty it first before reinstalling an earlier version.

I can confer the problem seems to be with iTunes & NOT LW. I am using an older version of LW (4.16.x) & same problem occurs. ;)

Edit: I don't have a recent old version. Only one from late July last year ... iTunes 7.3.1 (click on link) . Then click the Request Download Ticket. On following page press Download.

I included the 7.3.2 update package but doubt it will work all the same. But as long as the 7.3.1 works ok for you & doesn't muck up your iTunes preferences due to it being an older version, then all is fine. :)
