Crackling sound in background during previewing audio song, but later plays fine in iTunes, using LW 5

When i start a download, it starts as normal till when i preview the audio file a crackling sound is goin on in the background and when its done and i use it on itunes it works perfect. I have tried uninstalling lime wire and reinstalling but it doesn't work. and by the way i have a mac and limewire pro 5.
