Default I can't write anything on the search bar...

That's right. I punch in every letter of the alphabet there but nothing shows up and I can't search for anything. I'm talking about the free LimeWire 5 by the way, I just downloaded it and cannot use it. Can anyone help me please!

Hi,

Possibly your the java on your Mac isn't up to date, or you haven't installed it..

Remove Limewire and Java (if you have it installed)
Go to www.java.com and download it.
Then install Limewire again.

Hopefully it should be fine... Sorry not much good with macs myself. Give me a linux distro anyday.

Hello, I have updated my java and re-installed Limewire and it's still not working. This is so frustrating. I try to write anything on the search and nothing happens, no letters appear....

This does seem to be a problem with the odd mac user of LW 5, generally using macbooks, etc. Might be best to downgrade to LW 4. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...0-5-later.html describes in part how to do.
