Check this post http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...5-mac-osx.html. The recent Java update has caused issues for a few people. Reinstalling Java using the Standalone installer should fix the problem.

Well, I tried what you suggested and Limewire still doesn't run when I click on the icon.

I'm running Version 5.1.3 Pro. Will the beta version downgrade me or will it just run a pro version of the beta? I'm not usually keen on beta programs, but I guess I don't have a choice right now, unless I can go back to the previous version of Java.
