How do I unselect all (torrent) files before downloading?

In the 'Select files to download' screen I want to be able to unselect all the

boxes. Right now I have to individually unselect each file that I do not want

to download, and if there are 200 files.... well I spend my life unclicking

boxes. Please help....

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'Select files to download' screen.

LimeWire has a search which comes up with search results. Simply select the file you wish to download / double-click it. After selecting it will then show up in the Download window at bottom of screen.

If you wish to cancel incomplete downloads, control click the file & select Cancel from menu. Else Select each file with the Command key & do the same.

unchecking 170 boxes with just one click

O.K., this is what I do. I click 'Download Torrent' in isohunt. Up pops a

download window, and I click on the torrent. Then another window pops up

titled 'Torrent Download'. At the top of the window is listed the torrent

name, it's size, and # of files. Underneath that it says 'Select files to

download'. Below that there is five columns with the following names from

left to right. DL ( witch of course stands for 'download', and there is a box

that is checked here witch you can manually uncheck). Then next columns

are 'Name', 'Size', '%', and 'Priority'. At the bottom is a oval 'ok' box you

can click that will put the checked downloadable files into limewire, and the

download will start.

So if I am looking at this torrent, and it has 200 files in it, and I only

want 30 of the files, then that is 170 clicks of the boxes of the files that I

do not want to download. Lord of the Rings... being the great wizard that

you R. I am sure that you can help me with this problem.

I don't use LW for torrents myself & am overseas at present so cannot check how to do this with LW. AFAIK LW did not have the option to select which files within a torrent to not download & whether the option has been added since.

I use Azureus (Vuse) for torrents & most of us here recommend either Azureus or uTorrent for torrents. With Vuse you can pause or cancel individual files within a torrent which includes option to delete any partial downlded file.

waterfire33,

I guess that you are looking at albums and selecting only the songs you wish to dl. When you are making the selections you are using your browser. Even though LW is up and running, until you hit the open button, (in the pop-up 'open, save, cancel'), you are still in your browser. After you hit 'open' the info is sent to LW to begin the dl. So while you are un-checking those little boxes you are not in LW. I know of no way to make your task easier.

Like LotR, I use Vuze for torrent downloading. Limewire is limited in the number of torrents it can dl at the same time, and LW is banned from some torrent sites for not complying with required protocols. I strongly suggest you get Vuze or uTorrent (both are free) and stop using LW for torrents.
