Use LM 5.k3.6 on Mac OS 10.6
My shared folder in iTunes contains all may audio files, yet the Public Shared folder in LM shows approx. 300 tunes less. Why does it not contain all the files, as the previous versions of LM did? |

LW will accept almost any format. Except by default it blocks wma files (& will block known bad files from being shared). AIFF is fine so long as you have checked the option to share that kind of file. See 2nd image & comments here about enabling file extensions to share http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...tml#post339365
![]() BTW although I still share AIFF files, I have instead converted many of them to FLAC files using either Switch or even better is XLD X Lossless Decoder. Advantage of FLAC is they are compressed lossless files (ie: equivalent to apple lossless but slightly smaller in size), and they can hold various id3 tag information. FLAC files are easier & faster for people to download because they are generally 50-60% of size of AIFF files. Problem with apple lossless is not everyone knows a lot about them & do not necessarily recognise them as being apple lossless because they usually use same file extension as m4a files. Disadvantage of FLAC files for Mac users is they are not directly playable by iTunes. A workaround is possible however. I use FLUKE; see half-way-down this first post for 'FLAC and Ogg Vorbis files using iTunes and Fluke' http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...unes-ipod.html & the link to 'Alternate Audio players' for links to XLD & Switch. I recommend XLD because it does the best exact CD rips of any OSX audio program. |

Thanks, have 22 formats checked, and see it has now taken aiff files. Will do some more checking and try and isolate the files not showing and see where I got them from. I got some from a friend and will see if they came from a cd or if he downloaded them.
Thanks again for your help |
