Resource Fork ??? So I've been using Limewire for a while now. On version 2.4.1, OS X 10.1.4, no prob with music files. But most of the .sit files I've d/l lately wont unstuff all the way, stuffit seems to take forever and then I get a resource fork corrupted, use this file with caution warning. N'wha? Just seems like its been lately, and on some really huge files like Psh*p7. Kinda frustrating after wasting all that bandwidth. Any suggestions? |
See my thread here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=10840 some files out there, including .sit files, can still be corrupted. I've verified this by opening the files in a low-level Hex-Editor program like HexEdit 1.8. Of the 200 MB file, about 30% of the file was filled with all 0's--I mean like thousands of 0's in a row, which is just not right. A good .sit file shouldn't be like that. Hope this helps... |

But this has to be brought to attention. It really would be nice if one could just take a moment to check if the files are valid. I know this means extra work for those who share, but at the end of the day, this saves a lot of people from disappointment and frustration... |
