try opening file share under you apple menu and then assign
mp3 to itunes, and then chill out , or you could remove qt from your mac

There is a little freeware program at versiontracker called, "iTunes Associator". This will change the creator and file type from QT to iTunes, since Limewire seems to override Internet Prefs.

you could always just drag the file from your shared folder in the Mac OS to the desktop, and then drop it into iTunes

Default here is how you do it

in itunes go to edit > preferences>under the general tab click the SET button beside where it says "use itunes to playback internet content-"( or something like that) that will do it--
all of your limewire files will now open directly into itunes

you need to go into your quicktime settings to change this. They will not be in the Lime Wire preferences. Same with making Itunes the default player..

Talking changing preferred MP3 playback app

Hi, Just a general note here:
If you want to change the settings for any default application, (such as the default mp3 player), open "file exchange" in your control panels. You can change them there. Also, you can do the same in your internet browsers by changing the "helper applicatons" in the preferences.
To answer your question/problem:
Just find the .mp3 extension in the File exchange control panel, click on "change." then locate iTunes and select it.
