Insert disk problem How do I stop the program from asking for an unrelated zip disk to be inserted? |
I'm having a similar problem. Limewire keeps asking me to insert the"Unreal" disk (the game). It's annoying. but not nearly as bad as other aspects of the program, like announcing to me that internal Limewire diagnostics has detected a bug, followed by illegible code that needs to be e-mailed to Limewire.com, but no bug fix or explanation. VERY annoying! |
Hello! If I where you and had such problems with my mac then I would do the following: -Go to LimeWire site and download and install the latest version. -Disconnect any external drives from the computer. -Use Disk First Aid(The ambulance) to check for directory damage. Also use Tech Tool lite to zap PRAM and rebuild desktop available for free to download at Versiontracker.com |
Thank you for trying to help. Unfortunately, I did all that you recommended before I posted on this thread, just to make sure I wasn't wasting everyone else time and effort. Limewire has ALWAYS asked (intermittently) for installing the "Unreal" game disk, form the first version I intalled to now. The problem has never been corrected regarless of which version I've had running. But even these problems aren't the most aggravating; they are merely slightly annoying. The thing that gets steam to come out of my ears consistently is the frequency withwhich Limewire freezes, not my computer, but ISP program, so while I'm terchnically still connect to the net, absolutely no information is being exchanged---this too is nothing new regarding Limewire. It is really unfortunate since this application has such potential, but is so often disappointing and frustrating. |
I did all that also and even searched with a program which proports to find all invisable files. I have been through three upgrades since 2. Problem remains. |
