I just want to get the damn thing to work...
 

I have a Mac OS 8.6 and 160M of memory and I can't
get Limewire to work. I've had it in the past and
it worked fine and then about one day several months ago it stopped.
So I threw it away and downloaded it again and now
it won't even appear on the screen. I get a message that
says...

"The document LimeWireMac.bin could not be open because
the application program that created it could not be found"

Can anyone help? I've tried several times with no luck.

Try StuffitExpander (freeware) from Aladin
You should be able to open the file

What browser are you using to download it? If you're using Internet explorer, go to preferences->download options and make sure "automatically decode Mac Binary (.bin) files" is checked.

Had a several other problems after that but solved them
