freezes everytime
 

I have DSL and can't even connect to limewire. Everytime I try it takes approx. 10 minutes just to appear ant then freezes, and I have to reboot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have a G3 iMac with os 8.5, my friend has the same with 8.6 and has crashes but can still download most of the time. However I can't at all. Her downloads are fast, like 1 minute for a full song. I use to could download on a dial up connection, it took me 45 minutes a song, but now I get NOTHING!!

I had the same problem....it had to do on the set up when I was telling LW where it could look for other people to get files from me....if i told it Itunes it would freeze up and I would have to force a Restart....
My suggestion....use Sherlock to trash everything that says Limewire and Empty Trash,,,,,Including the Installer....( you can keep the LimeWireMac.bin file)...start the reinstall form the .bin file....
and when it comes to the setting preferences keep it simple...

Freezing and goes stupid
 

iMac2, 1G RAM, 60G hard drive, Mac OS 9.2.2, Limewire Pro 2.4.4

All it does is freeze. Then, it forgets everything it was looking for.
