MP3 to audio file converter (Mac)
 

Dear fellow Mac users,
Has anyone found a program, for the Mac, that can convert an MP3 file to the standard audio file that can then be burned onto a CD for play on a standard audio player?
I have been searching and asking for over a year now and have never received an answer for a Mac.

Try Toast for Mac http://www.roxio.com/en/products/toa...YRVQQKAAAG4IV0. I have all .mp3 and they burn fine. Every now and then Toast will convert one to .aiff. But I've never had any problems unless the .mp3 is corrupted in which case I will download another version and hope it's ok. This program also can burn videos.

I got a free version with my CD burner. I then paid/upgraded to Toast Titanium. I love it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me and give me an option to my problem. I guess I should have said that I was looking for a cheap solution. I don't download many Mp3s and have only about a dozen or maybe two songs that I would like to convert and record. I guess I was looking for freeware, shareware, or a cheap program to convert these files and I would be done with it. I played with Napster a couple years ago and have not found a good site since for the Mac. If I did find another "Napster" site that was compatable with the Mac, I might not mind spending $90 for a program that I would use on a regular basis. I do have an old version of Toast, 3.5.3, that came with my OLD CD burner. Do you know of an update that would do this? Is it so old that it is unsupported?
What Mac compatable downloading service do you use?

your options for MP3 conversions
 

You can use SoundJam to convert any MP3's to the AIFF format you will require to burn an audio CD for playing in Walkman's etc. It may be around on some older sites as I think it has been replaced with iTunes etc. But, mine still works like a charm.

I use LimeWire to download files. We Mac users don't really have much more of a choice.

Can you still use your version of Toast with your new CD burner? Didn't your new one come with any software? Are all the mp3's corrupt? Is that why you can't burn them?

Wow, I didn't know it was $90. I got a discount because I registered my free version. But, I figured it was worth it because I have made alot of CD's and a couple of videos.

I am still using the old CD burner that came with the old Toast program. It is really slow. I am thinking of upgrading to a new G4, but hate to spend the money. Apple will probably come out with a new machine soon and really drop the prices on the G4s right after my purchase.
Well if I can get one of the two MP3 converters to work, I might join LimeWire.

iTunes can convert an mp3 back to an .aif and burn a CD which can be played in a regular player. Check your options.
