mpeg error message Couldn't open the file "name here"because a software component needed by the movie could not be found. What am i missing to play movies?? I have Quickime which converted the mpegs for me... That should be fine right? Has anyone on a Mac had any success with this? cm |
I have the exact same problem, if anyone gets a solution or info email to romanp@xtra.co.nz |
I get that alot. There are different types of mpegs. Some of which QuickTime cannot handle. I just put them aside until the day I find a program that can play them, or I trash them. If it's an .avi, then there are programs that can "fix" them to get them to play. Do a search here on "avi" or "divx" to find the threads about them. You may find the answers you need for that. As for mpeg, I think it's a problem us Mac users just have to deal with. Sorry. |
i have the same problem. i'd say 90% of movies/clips can't be opened by quicktime. files of all types, avi, mpeg, mpg, whatever!! it's just really irritating |
