Java application error

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.launch(Compiled Code)
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.main(Unknown Source)
at com.apple.mrj.JManager.JMStaticMethodDispatcher.ru n(JMAWTContextImpl.java)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java)

This error seams to be common between Mac users can we gat to the bottom of it, or can limewire allow us to download version 2.6 which works fine.

I am also experiencing a java application error. When attempting to launch LimeWire Pro I receive a Fatal Application Error.
The text of the error message reads as follows: “Unable To Launch Java Application. Unable to locate the application’s “main” class. The class “.com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main’ must be public and hav a “public static void main (String [])’ method LAX”. I am running Mac OS 9.2.2 and have MRJ 2.25 installed. I would appreciate any suggestions.

This is really ridiculous. I thought about buy the pro version but this is a joke. I'll find something else to use from now on. This software isn't worth all the aggravation I'm going through.

what the heck!!!

I just tried intsalling 2.7 on my friend's mac, using OS 9.2 and got the same Java problem...

...and it automatically throws the installer in the trash, and I get the same damn error message and don't wanna start trying to change stuff in the control panel cos' it's not my rig and I'm just a bit too stupid to go nosing around another man's system profile without knowing exactly what is wrong.

Thing that I'm getting really bothered about is that, even if this is an issue that LW developers cannot figure out, it's like they haven't even read the thread. Like, the very frickin' least a bloke could do is get back to you and say, "Well, we are sorry that this is happening, but we don't know what the problem is either and we are feverishly at work trying to suss it all out, so sit tight and we'll get back to you."

or even..."Hi there fellow Gnuttella friend...we are sorry that you are so stupid that an updated Java application has ruined your evening, but try switching on appletalk or changing your 'filesharing' preferences"...or whatever it is that we are suppossed to do.

It's like, those who could be helping have their heads buried in the sand.

Like my Mom used to say..."Just call me if your going to be out late, don't keep me up worrying about you all night."
