LimeWire Pro Version 2.7.11 I recently downloaded LimeWire Pro Version 2.7.11 and noticed that there was a new option for Macintosh called "Macintosh (NoVM)" that was only 2.1 MB in size. I am currently using an iMac (Graphite) and would be interested to know if this is applicable to my machine since I just downloaded the 9.1 MB Macintosh file. Does anyone know what the term "NoVM" means and what would happen if I used it instead of the longer 9.1 MB download file? |
If you already have Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ) on your computer, then you should download the "No VM" version. The other installer is larger because it includes Java. I think that by having OS 9.1 then you already have Java. Just for your info, there seems to be a problem with the 2.7.11 installer. Not sure about the Pro version, but there have been alot of posts about this new version not working. If you have a problem, do a search of the LimeWire forum for "older versions of LimeWire". 2.7.9 seemed to work ok for most. |
Thank you Julie!! Yes, I do have MRJ 2.2.5... I will heed your advice about v2.7.11 Thanks |
