Unhappy Installed 2.85 Pro & Cannot Launch programs !

Hello,
My hardrive died & I am trying to get back up & running.
( I had not backed up all my software !! )
My old version ( free) of Limewire worked great.
I decided to pay the nominal fee for the Pro version.
I can dowload files (software) but cannot launch them ! They show up in
my "shared file" . The only thing that will launch are text files.

What gives ?
Help !!
