Please help a frustrated an newbie! I'm new to this whole deal and confused as to why only one of the dozen or so songs I've seemingly successfully downloaded will actually play when I ask the Limewire software to launch a song. The other ones cause a dialog box to come up in RealPlayer that says the application cannot find the file I've requested and that the link I followed may be outdated or inaccurate. An example of the pathway (if that helps in the diagnosis of my undoubted idiocy) is: file://Macintosh HD:System Folder:Preferences:Shared:Paul Simon - Father a#20BC0.mp3 PLEASE help! I'm desperate to begin my music collecting! Thank you! |
I'm new also, but if you open iTunes, then find your song, iTunes will/should play it. In iTunes you can then convert it to a mp3. Hope this Helps |
Don't try to launch a song through LimeWire. Follow the path to your actual shared folder and double-click the song there and see if the same error message comes up. Do you typically use RealPlayer as your mp3 player? |
aha! iTunes. That's the ticket! I knew I was being stupid, but I needed someone to graciously point out where my stupidity lay. For that, I am grateful. Now I'm rolling. Thanks! |
Glad I could help. I know what it's like to be a newbee and feel stranded. |
