Unhappy What Happend to Number of Conncetions Field?

I just upgraded to the 2.9.whatever BASIC and I'm runnin it on OS 9.1

When i went to increase the number of host connections. I found ya can't do this with the new version. DAMMITT! It seems the new version will only hold 3 connections and rarely search for others.

In the older version I was running if I did this my results got a little better or at least different.

What's up with this? How do I get more connections and more varried connections.

I added a bunch of these numbers to the add field but they always get dropped after briefly trying to connect.

ie: 62.211.228.61:6346 BEAR 4.2.5.11
194.239.205.31:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
161.13.12.86:7221 Unknown
24.62.74.53:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
131.238.131.144:8263 Unknown
61.42.121.93:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
24.165.249.66:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
24.211.144.94:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
24.31.223.17:6346 LIME 2.6.3 Pro
24.98.223.64:6346 LIME 2.9.7
68.34.84.80:6347 LIME 2.9.8
65.81.163.83:6346 XOLO 1.56.1
4.65.84.147:6346 XOLO 1.56.1

tried varrious ways of entering this stuff.

AAAARRRRGGGGG What does it all mean and where does it go?

.....Stupid upgrades

What am i doin' wrong.

"Number of Connections" Option has been removed; New Algorithm Implemented.
Opening up extra connections use to allow user searches to abuse the network by taking up too much collective bandwidth on other user's machines. To build a truly successful P2P network, it requires low bandwidth and low impact on the network. We have built our new LimeWire software with these concerns in mind and have included many bandwidth saving features. We now use an algorithm on ultrapeers that gives every user the same experience.
Whether you are an ultrapeer or a leaf, you issue a search and your ultrapeer selectively queries the network until you receive 150 results. If you make a general search, you get a few general answers. If you want more general results, you can browse host on these users. If you make a very specific search, our algorithm will try hard to get you 150 specific results. This selective querying process allows us to extend the reach for rare and specific queries. You should receive good results for any search. Given that we are trying to control the aggressiveness of queries and responses, having more connections would work against this goal.
