Limewire will not open

I get every new Limewire release as soon as I can. The last five releases all downloaded correctly and installed in my Applications Folder. Then I double click the Limewire application icon and it bounces once in the Dock and that is IT. So for several revisions of Limewire I cannot even open it up!

Where have I gone wrong?

I am using a Dual 1.25 desktop Mac with a gig of memory and no problem running your competition's software (iSwipe).

*chuckles* iSwipe is poor competition if you ask me. I've used it for years. Limewire always wins in the end. But on to your matter.

Since you're running a dual 1.25, those are only bootable in OS X. I'd tell you to download Jum's build of Limewire for OS X, which is at http://baghira.han.de/~jum/LimeWire.html

Of course I am using Limewire for OS X!
That is why I am reduced to using iSwipe!
If Limewire for OS X worked, I would be using it.

Please help some more, that did not help me, sorry.

Download JUM's BUILD of Limewire for OS X!!! It is at http://baghira.han.de/~jum/LimeWire.html

It is different from the Limewire put out by limewire.com. It fixes bugs that are in the regular Limewire for OS X. I would strongly recommend downloading the Jum build.

Downloaded as suggested, no help

I went to the site you suggested (JUM's build) and downloaded Limewire there.

The same thing happens. I click on Limewire and it bobs up once in the Dock and that is the end of that.

No Limewire in the Dock. No Limewire running. Nothing.

It has been the same with the last six Limewires I have downloaded.

Any help?

That's very very weird. I've never heard of that happening...

Don't know what to tell you. Make sure you have java 1.3/1.4.

Giving up on Limewire

Since I cannot even open Limewire, unless there is some Limewire help for my problem, I will have to keep on using iSwipe as my MP3 downloading app.

Sorry, I would rather use Limewire, but know of no way to get in touch with an actual Limewire tech support person.

As Blackbird says, this is weird.
