www.3ivx.com has all you need

First, download the 3ivx codec and then download Divx Doctor II. Install 3ivx and take your avi to see the doctor. It will convert it to a mov with normal sound in just a couple of minutes. And the 3ivx codec is better for decoding video to, so just delete the divx codec.
