"Limewire documents"???

This is my first post. I searched around and couldn't find any answers to this problem.

Lately, when I am download mp3 files, 90% come up as "limewire documents" and are denoted as a blank sheet icon. None of my mp3 players (iTunes is default) will open them, and stuffit expander says that they are not compressed. In the course of trying to open some of these files, the computer has suggested opening them through LW itself. Since I am on 9.2, I don't have a player and this is impossible.

Any ideas on how to convert these LW docs. into playable files?

Thanks.

My guess is that you are not "clearing" or "killing" the completed downloads. In order to have the final write of the download onto your harddrive, Limewire has to clear the files from your dl screen.

If that doesn't work, go to itunes preferences and set it as the default player.

Ive had this problem as well, it happens with the file name is too long and the ".mp3" cant fit, its an easy fix. Just delete a few letters from the file name and add ".mp3" to the end.
