Slow Ass Saving

I LOVE the new version of LIMEWIRE PRO. I have been getting the best download speeds I have ever gotten. For some reason now, when "verifying file contents" it takes for ever!!!! downloads songs in like 1 min then takes TEN saving it to my hardrive? am I the only one experiencing this problem!?
HELP! wtf?

The verifying file phase is not the saving to your harddrive phase, but a process that checks for file corruptions.

You're not the only person mentioning that it takes longer to verify. All I can say is try to live with it, and no doubt it will be fixed by next update.

Something might be stego'ed in a file. That could be serious.

I agree whole heartedly!!!! The verifying and then the saving actually makes the whole process of getting a file take longer than it did when you only downloaded from one source. This needs to be fixed or if it can't be fixed, then re-thunk. I would like to turn that off and just take my chances with the file as it is.

song download speeds

I am interested to hear that you can now achieve song downloads of minutes, after going pro.I went pro 3.6.1.5 and still find downloads 25mins upwards.could you throw some light on this , i am using classic download
on a imac 500 mhz 56k mod.

The download time is dependent on many factors, including the speed of the uploader, the speed of the downloader, the "distance" involved in the making the transfer, the size of the file, the stability of the connection, the number of people uploading the file, to name a few.

I attribute my download times to my 1.2/1.3MB DSL, not to any difference between Limewire free vs. Pro.

I suspect if I were to get a new dual G5 and you were to get a broadband connection we'd both be happier with Limewire v3.6.15!

Last 2 versions have had problems. Slow verify and slow saving.

Downloads are MUCH faster, but the verify and saving take MUCH longer than the DL

My point exactly! Whatever we gained with with the ultrapeer and/or downloading from more than one source we more than lost with the verifying and saving.
