slooow "verifying file", etc., can someone please respond

After I download a tune (quickly enough - sometimes under 30 seconds) Limewire clicks over into "Verifying File Contents" and takes FOREVER to do this, sometimes 8 - 10 minutes. Does any Limewire or Limewire pro user know why this is, why it bothers to verify in the first place (other download programs like ISwipe don't verify the files and they come out fine), is it really necessary, and why must it take so long. Is it a function of my older Mac computer - my son's new Toshiba goes thru the verify process in no time. Please respond.

Also, when I search I use both the "Title" bar and the "Artist" bar to specify just the tune I want, and still, the results often come back either with other titles by that same artist, ones I didn't ask for, or entirely other artists who recorded a song that has a couple of the same words in it, but isn't really the same title at all. Are there any search filters available to keep it narrowed down to just what you asked for, and avoid all the extraneous listings

try this, it really worked for me.You can attempt to speed up LimeWire by enabling the JIT yourself. This can be done by opening up the file "LimeWire.lax" in any text editor. (LimeWire.lax can be found in the same folder that the LimeWire program is in.) Look for the line that reads:
lax.nl.macos.java.compiler=off
and insert a '#' before it, so it reads:
#lax.nl.macos.java.compiler=off

Then save the file and start up LimeWire.

I cannot guarantee that LimeWire will continue to work. But if it does, it will be a little faster.
