I have downloaded Limewire 1.6and hace spent the day unsuccessfully trying to download. I have Doorstop Personal Edition as a Firewall, my ISP is AOL and to stay online I use Netscape Communicator. It freezes constantly and drops the connections etc etc. With Napster it was all very easy. I have tried disabling extensions, disabling the firewall and I always have to "force quit". Any inspiration will be grateful as I have re-installed twice and losing patience

Thanks in advance

LimeWire experiences some significant performance issues on Mac OS 9.1 and below. This has to do with the Mac implementation of Java and its use of "cooperative threads."

Try increasing the amount of memory allocated to LimeWire to 40 megs or more if you have it. This should at least improve the situation.
